This truly exquisite and well-detailed medal is a replica of the Prussian Order of the Crown with Swords Second Class – the Commander’s Cross. It comes with a length of the proper Prussian black and white “war ribbon.” The Order of the Crown (Kronenorden) was established in 1861 and ranks with the Order of the Red Eagle. Membership in the order was limited to commissioned officers.This beautiful two-sided medal measures 5 cm across and weighs 1.5 oz. / 42 grams. It comes with a (ends unfinished) 12-inch length of the appropriate 55 mm (wide) ribbon (reproduction).I also offer this medal in the "peacetime" version without swords which is mounted on the light blue ribbon – see my other auctions.
